Round 28: Otherwise Constricted

Exhibition: Behind the Seen (in collaboration with Philip M. Jones) - Project Row Houses - Houston - Spring/2008

The beat and lyrics of a song are powerful and can quickly change a mood. Images can be just as powerful. Since hip hop culture is extremely visual with its vivid images painted through rap lyrics, I have become heavily influenced by that genre in particular. With the inception of cover art in the 1970's and music videos in the 1980's - the hip hop aesthetic changed and became vigrantly visual.
